As the fall sports season wraps up, we’ll be profiling two standout athletes from schools in the area, nominated by their athletic directors. Today’s athlete: Christopher Hango (left) and Devon Rollins.

 

Christopher Hango

Richford Junior/Senior High School

Grade: 12

Sports: Soccer

Position: Striker.

What were your best and worst moments of the season: Best: scoring our first goal of the season. Worst: losing to Winooski.

Do you play other sports? Which is your favorite? Track and field, cross-country, basketball, skiing, indoor soccer.

Who is your favorite athlete? Elle Purrier of Richford High School

What other activities do you do? Jazz band, concert band, student government.

What is your least favorite school subject? English.

If you could just know one language without having to learn it, what would it be? French.

If you could communicate with one animal, what would it be? A dog.

Name something that really annoys you: Daylight savings time.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Steak.

If you could be a celebrity for a day, who would you be? Glen Beck.

If you had to get a tattoo, what would you get? Something cool.

 

 

Devon Rollins

Winooski High School

Grade: 11

Sport: Football

Position: Quarterback, running back

What were your best and worst moments of the season? My best and worst moment came on the same day when we were playing Woodstock.  We went into overtime and Woodstock got the ball first and scored and I had to come on offense and help our team by scoring. We failed to move the ball on three downs and on fourth down I went to pass and didn’t see anyone and ran but got tackled on the one yard line. This made me disappointed but also gave me the dedication to work harder everyday at practice to help my team if we are in this situation again.

Do you play other sports? Which is your favorite? Yes, I play basketball and baseball also. My favorite sport is baseball.

Do you plan to play after high school? Yes, I plan to go to college and hope to go to Akron Ohio.

Who is your favorite athlete? Chris Paul.

What other activities do you do? Scholars bowl, student council, student voice.

What is your least favorite school subject? Don’t hate any of my classes, they are all pretty fun.

If you could just know one language without having to learn it, what would it be? Spanish because there are many people who speak Spanish and also the culture is great to learn about.

If you could communicate with one animal, what would it be? A monkey because I really want to know what is going on in their minds for them to act like this. 

Name something that really annoys you. People who do not take practices seriously because it affects us as a team.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Steak.

If you could be a celebrity for a day, who would you be? President Obama.

If you had to get a tattoo, what would you get? My aunt’s initials because she passed away last year and always used to watch me when I was a kid and helped me be a better person.
