As the fall sports season wraps up, we’ll be profiling two standout athletes from schools in the area, nominated by their athletic directors. Today's athletes are from Milton High School.

Hillary Turner

Grade: 12

Sport: Soccer

Position: Goalkeeper

What were your best and worst moments of the season?

One of the best moments of my season was beating South Burlington at home. This was a team that we knew was going to be a challenge and we came out strong and got the job done. Through the whole 80 minutes my team worked well together and we never let down. This led to us beating them 6-1 and it was kind of revenge from last year when we lost to them 2-0. For the worst moments of my season, it’s a tie between two games, CVU and Harwood. Going into the CVU game we had prepared for a tough match because they were number one in D1. Once we started playing my team just seemed to play flat and I personally had a bad game. In the end we lost 2-0, but I felt we could have played much better. Then of course in the Championship game we lost to Harwood, which was difficult. We had worked so hard throughout the season and before the game to prepare for it and lost. My team dominated the majority of the game and one lucky shot by them ended the game early on and my team was not able to recover. It made it more emotional because it was my senior year and the team could have had a three-peat.  That said though, I have had an amazing career with two state championships which I am very proud of. 

Do you play other sports? Which is your favorite? I don't play any other sports.

Do you plan to play in college? I plan to play on a club team in college.

Who is your favorite athlete? My favorite athlete is Kristine Lilly. She is an absolutely amazing role model and pioneer in women’s soccer. What makes her more impressive to me is that she continues to play and perform at the top level.

What other activities do you do? I am in band, stage band, play indoor soccer and do community service through NHS.

What is your least favorite school subject? Right now I really like all my classes, so I cannot pick one that is my least favorite.

If you could just know one language without having to learn it, what would it be? I would say French would be the one language I would just like to know. I am headed to France on the school trip in April so knowing the language fluently would be very helpful.

If you could communicate with one animal, what would it be? I would communicate with a panda.

Name something that really annoys you. When people chew gum really loud and obnoxiously.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would definitely eat mashed potatoes the rest of my life. I do not think I could ever get sick of them because they are so delicious.

If you could be a celebrity for a day, who would you be? I would be Reese Witherspoon because she is very classy and a great actress.

If you had to get a tattoo, what would you get? I am not a tattoo kind of person, so I would never get one.

 

 

Dino Georgakis 

Grade: 12 

Sport: Football 

Position: Linebacker. 

What were your best and worst moments of the season? Best moment was watching the fireworks after our homecoming win against Fairfax. My worst memory was walking off the field after our last game. 

Do you play other sports? Which is your favorite? I only play football. I used to do track and field, but football is by far my favorite. 

Do you plan to play in college? Yeah I plan on college football. 

Who is your favorite athlete? My favorite athlete is Ray Lewis.

What other activities do you do? I'm a member of our schools National Honors Society. I am also a class officer for my school. 

What is your least favorite school subject? Least favorite is AP Stats. 

If you could just know one language without having to learn it, what would it be? It would be Greek, so I could understand half of my family. 

If you could communicate with one animal, what would it be? A Lion. 

Name something that really annoys you. Losing, and braggers. 

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hamburgers. 

If you could be a celebrity for a day, who would you be? Denzel Washington. 

If you had to get a tattoo, what would you get? I’m not a tattoo guy.
